When do you rehearse? We rehearse regularly on Thursday nights.  We usually rehearse 4-6 times before a performance.

What is the commitment level? We are looking for musicians who wish to commit themselves to performing for the entire season.  We understand that conflicts may arise, however preference will be given to players who wish to become permanent members of OBCO.

How many concerts do you play? There are 4 regularly scheduled concerts each season, one fundraising concert and one summer concert.  We occasionally join other Prince William performing groups.

Are musicians paid? We are currently a volunteer orchestra (please see next question).  We are hopeful that our future will allow us to begin compensating musicians.

Are there smaller ensembles? Regular members may be placed into working ensembles.  These ensembles are often assigned to paid gigs such as weddings, receptions, and other events.

Are there auditions? Audition requirements vary by section.  Currently we are inviting all string players to sit in on a rehearsal and then speak to the director and section leader.

Is the orchestra affiliated with the church it performs in, beyond using it for music?
Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra is not affiliated with any church, religious organization, or other group.  Currently Prince William County has no official performing arts facility and there is only one government owned auditorium.  We are a chamber orchestra and prefer the more intimate setting that churches/chapels can provide.  We are hopeful to be a part of the  two arts facilities that are being built in the area.

How can I decide if OBCO is for me? We invite you to sit in on a rehearsal or attend one of our many FREE concerts. Visit www.obco.org for a current schedule
