Gregory Martin

Gregory Martin is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. His musical training started at age four with piano, and trumpet instruction began at 11. He has performed trumpet in local and national collegiate wind ensembles and orchestras, and still remains a trumpet soloist.

Gregory has served as guest conductor for the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra and for wind ensembles and orchestras in Fairfax County Public Schools. He was a participant in the Eastman School of Music Summer Conducting Institute, and in Portland, Oregon’s Rose City Chamber Orchestra International Conductor’s Workshop as an Emerging Artist. He currently studies conducting privately and has worked with Maestro Emil de Cou, Associate Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Scott Speck, Music Director of the Washington Ballet.

Gregory is also a consultant to local non-profit organizations and operates a mathematics tutoring service he founded 10 years ago.
